(1) Volunteer Recruitment -- The Volunteer Connection helps affiliated agencies and institutions successfully fill their volunteer needs for ongoing or date sensitive opportunities. Cost free recruitment services include posting your information in our online searchable database, and, when appropriate, publicizing your needs in our regular weekly volunteering columns in the Houston Chronicle, The Greensheet, Job Hunter, and the Fort Bend Sun. Eligibility guidelines **

(2) Risk Management -- Volunteer Houston is authorized by the State of Texas to provide criminal background history screening of volunteers for qualified nonprofits.

(3) Student Interns -- Through its ExxonMobil Community Summer Jobs Program and Shell Non-Profit Internship Program, Volunteer Houston places student interns with a stipend at selected nonprofits for summer placements.

**Most organizations with 501(c)(3) nonprofit status are eligible to utilize our Volunteer Connection cost-free services. For-profit entities such as hospitals, nursing facilities, and hospice programs are eligible when the volunteer assignments in question involve direct services to patients. We do not refer volunteers for political or purely religious jobs.
