Youth and Families are able to participate in many of our listed opportunities in our agency database or you can create your own project using some of our resources. We encourage you to find fun and meaningful ways to help our communities. For one-time projects and events, visit our special events calendar. Using the “advanced search” option in our database you can find which volunteer opportunities are open to certain ages or for groups. The Volunteer Houston Youth in Action Council is a group of Houston area high school students working to find ways to enhance community service by youth. Council members meet regularly and advise Volunteer Houston on ideas for involvement. Idealist is for youth and teens with tips on different ways to take action in the community. Also provides sources for funding Kids Care Clubs is a project of Hands On and posts different service projects each month and step-by-step instructions, compassion and issues education. Projects are great for groups ages 5 – 13. What Kids Can Do has great examples and ideas from voices and work of the next generation Youth Service America has resources for planning, funding resources and sample projects.
