Mayor Syvester Turner, Volunteer Houston and Points of Light are pleased to announce a ServiceWorks Skill-Building Bootcamp, in partnership with the White House Opportunity Project. This high-energy, immersive experience will feature workshops, interactive discussions and a service project benefiting the Houston community. Participants will be 150 area youth between the ages of 16 – 24 who have successfully completed summer employment through the Hire Houston Youth Program.

A Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) has been established at B F Terry High School (5500 Avenue N, Rosenberg, TX 77471) for those interested in providing assistance to the Southwest Texas flood relief effort in Fort Bend County and surrounding areas.

In response to the recent announcement that federal disaster assistance has been made available to the state of Texas, an online Virtual Volunteer Reception Center (VRC) has been activated on the Volunteer Houston website for those interested in providing assistance to the Southwest Texas flood relief efforts in Harris County and surrounding areas.
